Last year, the Victorian Women's Trust came to Studio Morellon needing a refresh – not just for their annual report, but their whole visual identity!
They wanted their identity to reflect their awesome work: dynamic, activist, and engaging.
We kicked things off by creating their 2022-23 annual report, giving it a fresh new look that's approachable, friendly, and informative.
We collaborated on a custom artwork for the front cover, and drew inspiration from three incredible First Nations advocates — Dr Jackie Huggins AO, Prof Marcia Langton AO, and Emily Carter.
For the brand revamp, we kept VWT's main fonts, introduced a new one and changed the colour palette to something more contrasting and dynamic. We decided to add a playful human touch, and so I crafted some fun hand drawn doodles that brought the report and brand to life. These doodles weren't just decorations – they helped connect with the audience on a personal level (scrapbooking feels!), making the important message of the brand more relatable and human.
The 2022-23 report itself focused on women's activism, tying in perfectly with the message of VWT's recent events – all about kindness, connection, community, and respect.
But guess what? Our design went beyond the report! The custom cover art got chosen for the Queen Victoria Women Center's WOMEN*NOW 2023 exhibition, spreading Victorian Women Trust's message even further.
This project was a lovely and fun collaboration and very thankful to have been working with an amazing all-women team.
